Ancient Madder Silk Day Cravat (Ascot Tie)
Henna Brown with Burnt Orange, Crimson Red, Deep Navy, Moss Green and Tan Large Paisley Pattern Ancient Madder Hand Screen Printed Silk Day Cravat
"Originally derived from the Rubia tinctorum plant, the madder dyeing process infuses each silk cravat with a palette of deep purples, rich golds & browns, dark reds, vibrant oranges, earthy greens, and sumptuous blues. This meticulous method, undertaken by one of the last traditional silk mills in England, involves hand screen printing while utilising environmentally friendly techniques. The silk has a distinctly different handle from other silk - treated with gum arabic, it acquires a butter-like texture, known as "chalk hand", and is reminiscent of fine suede, with a uniquely "dusty" finish."

This design is just superb. The colour combination, the pattern itself (I’m a sucker for paisley) and the wonderful effect of the madder process that pulls the colours together. Cravat Club has done it again.
