The tale of Minamoto no Yorimitsu and Shoten Dōji is a classic Japanese folk tale, recounting the legendary confrontation between the renowned samurai Minamoto no Yorimitsu (also known as Raikou) and the formidable demon king, Shoten Doji.
In the story, Shoten Dōji terrorises the capital city of Kyoto, causing chaos and destruction. Hearing of this threat, Minamoto no Yorimitsu gathers his loyal retainers, including Watanabe no Tsuna, to confront the demon and rid the city of its menace.
The confrontation between Yorimitsu and Shoten Dōji unfolds in a series of battles, each filled with supernatural elements and cunning tactics. Despite the demon's formidable powers, Yorimitsu and his companions prove themselves to be valiant and resourceful warriors.
In the climactic showdown, Yorimitsu manages to outwit Shoten Dōji and deliver a fatal blow, ultimately vanquishing the demon and restoring peace to Kyoto.
