Ancient Madder Silk Day Cravat (Ascot Tie)
Rust with Forest Green, Royal Blue, Khaki & Golden Yellow Octagonal Geometric Pattern Ancient Madder Hand Screen Printed Silk Day Cravat
"Originally derived from the Rubia tinctorum plant, the madder dyeing process infuses each silk cravat with a palette of deep purples, rich golds & browns, dark reds, vibrant oranges, earthy greens, and sumptuous blues. This meticulous method, undertaken by one of the last traditional silk mills in England, involves hand screen printing while utilising environmentally friendly techniques. The silk has a distinctly different handle from other silk - treated with gum arabic, it acquires a butter-like texture, known as "chalk hand", and is reminiscent of fine suede, with a uniquely "dusty" finish."
